I am back to my old question, what happens if your Perl6 class has the same name as a pmc?
I want to extend the Hash class...
for the moment, it has to have a different name
however, the way that protoobjects are set up, that's not too much of a problem
i.e., Perl6Hash (in Parrot) can be held as the 'Hash' entry in the root namespace and report itself back as 'Hash'
(actually, %hash.WHAT gives back the Protoobject, which can report whatever it wants :-)
well, but the method I add to the namespace hash are not visible
rakudo -e 'my %h; for %h.HOW.methods { say $_ } ' # uses the pmc iterator to list me the methods of the protoobject!!

Anyone know offhand how to use gdb to scan for a byte pattern in a specified address range? Like if the heap for the parrot process ran from 08050000-0827d000, and I wanted to have gdb return the first byte it found in that range that equals 0xa17ad376 ... is there a command to do this sort of thing?
obviously the byte doesn't equal 0xa17ad376 ... I mean the address of the first byte where it finds the match :)

FREEZE_ASCII in src/pmc_freeze.c seems to have bitrotted to the point where it breaks the build process if set to 1
Is this worth filing a bug report over?

okay ... what's the way to add a ticket to RT?
and what's the practical difference between "new" and "open" (I just accidentally changed a ticket's status from new to open)
 purl: parrotbug
 parrotbug is mailto:parrotbug@parrotcode.org or http://svn.perl.org/parrot/trunk/docs/submissions.pod
 That's how I do it.
yeah, I just thought there was a webby interface too.
 anyway, I need some sleep
