% particl1 is now known as particle % allison has joined #parrotsketch % kjs has joined #parrotsketch % barney has joined #parrotsketch % chromatic has joined #parrotsketch Hello everyone. hello hi Shall we begin? allison? - Completed first architectural review of PIR PDD, ready for public review. - Added final ops for exceptions PDD and tests. - Am at Ubuntu Dev Summit, particularly interested in running Parrot on their mobile distribution. (looks quite doable). EOR Kept on with 'languages/scheme' .eor I fixed a couple of bugs and made a couple of performance improvements. I'm poking at the context marking code; I think it's doing some work over and over again, but if I get rid of the culprit, a couple of tests fail with GC debug. No particular luck on Coke's Tcl segfault with gcdebug, so we put in a workaround. kjs? just lurking, thanks. no report. leo? particle? ~ vacation prep > parrot time this week ~ fixed a few warnings, that's about it ~ we had somebody stop in to #parrot and ask about concurrency, said timing of our goals was in line with his plan for a new language. yay! ~ ptc has been working on doc generation for c files, hopefully we'll have a solution for generating them for pmc files soon, too ~ i likely won't have time to help with exceptions :( ~ have fun with 0.5.0, everybody! .end pmichaud? % arcady has joined #parrotsketch - Added Protoobject.pmc, providing support for creating protoobjects - Worked on PAST/POST refactor a bit more - Did a brief review of PDD 19 to add some clarifications - Still on track to finish new version of PAST/POST implementation by Nov 1 - This will include updates to NQP to allow NQP to create objects from other libraries and invoke methods on those objects .end Anyone else I missed? Alright, let's move on to questions. First up, PerlJam would like review of a State of the Bird in progress: http://feather.perl6.nl/~duff/articles/pp005-status.pod Are there any other questions? no questions here should we get platforms info early before this release? ...i should say, smoke results That would be lovely. Especially with various runcores. (Though I don't expect to run gcdebug runcore as part of make fulltest or whatever.) coke did an interim NEWS update but i think for this release we should have a pretty high-level release announcement Definitely. my box is still doing daily smokes (amd64-linux-ccache) if anyone wants to look at those * particle idly wonders how long make gcdebugtest would take... I think there are some infinite loops actually. one would be enough :) I need to take off in a minute. Anything else? nope ... says the guy who's going AWOL for a month. pmichaud: having smokes of various runcores would be very nice :) particle: I could probably arrange that w/o too much difficulty i'll be back after turkey day. save me a leg. % chromatic is now known as chromatic_afk PerlJam: where do you want comments sent on the draft? duff@pobox.com cool Thanks everybody! % arcady has left #parrotsketch % barney has left barney!~bernhard@p549A3868.dip0.t-ipconnect.de % allison has left allison!~chatzilla@12.172.70.4 % chromatic_afk has left #parrotsketch % allison has joined #parrotsketch % kjs has left kjs!~IceChat7@ip565fd420.direct-adsl.nl % allison has left allison!~chatzilla@65-78-26-139.c3-0.smr-ubr1.sbo-smr.ma.cable.rcn.com
